“democratising supply chain”
A flexible and agile supply chain network has never been needed more as volatile market conditions exacerbated by the indirect effects of COVID-19 have created catastrophic economic turmoil. Such a scenario can create positive stimulation, but only if the right methods are applied to capitalise upon opportunities to redress the imbalance.
By democratising supply chain access, greater numbers and varieties of SME businesses become engaged, whether as emerging leaders or as part of aggregation chains, creating the much-needed systemic resilience as never before. As existing supply lines decline, so alternative and complimentary sources can flourish and grow, boosting local, national and even the global economy.
The Bounty project is a consortium of expert providers engaging with the private and public sector, with the aim of building supply chain resilience to strengthen the UK economy in the face of unprecedented adversity, offering a solution that allows government to protect businesses and jobs.
